Rashmi “Rush” I. Patel, MD

Dr. Rush Patel practices general urology with a focus on prostate cancer. He specializes in robotic surgery and radiation, as well as non-invasive HIFU treatment for localized prostate cancer. Dr. Patel has been performing HIFU for nearly ten years and currently serves as the HIFU Program Director for Central Ohio Urology Group. He is one of only a few physicians in the state of Ohio and the nation to offer HIFU for prostate cancer.

Dr. Patel is acting President of Eastside Urological Center of Excellence and Medical Director of Robotic Surgery for Grove City Methodist Hospital, as well as being an active board member for Central Ohio Urology Surgery Center. His background includes serving as past President of Columbus Prostate Cancer Center, Finance Director for Central Ohio Urology Group and board member of Greater Ohio Mobile Lithotripsy.

After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree from The Ohio State University, he received his medical doctorate from University of Cincinnati Medical School. Dr Patel completed his General Surgery Internship and Urology Residency at Case Western Reserve University Medical Center.

His professional memberships include the American Urological Association, Ohio State Medical Association and Ohio Urological Society. Dr. Patel has also travelled extensively internationally to perform HIFU for prostate cancer prior to FDA approval in the United States.
